Remote Access to the Court of Protection Guidance

The Vice-President, Mr Justice Hayden, has issued detailed guidance on 31 March relating to remote access to the Court.
The Guidance runs to twenty pages and reiterates that remote hearings are the default position until further direction. 
It then runs through, in some detail, many of the issues raised by remote hearing including:
  • Judicial Access to Audio/Visual Conferencing Platforms and how to use Skype for Business, Microsoft Teams, Zoom and LifeSize
  • Transparency
  • Transcription and recording arrangements
  • the involvement of LiPs
  • the attendance of P
The Guidance also includes a draft order.
