The Department for Health and Social Care has published six new factsheets explaining more about Liberty Protection Safeguards as preparations continue for their implementation in April 2022.
The Liberty Protection Safeguards team responsible for implementing the roll out of the replacement for DoLS, has sent out their latest newsletter including updates on the MCA Code of Practice and the Health and Social Care Bill published in February.
The Liberty Protection Safeguards Implementation team has issued its 4th update on progress towards implementation of the Safeguards next year.
The LPS Policy Team at the DHSC have released their latest newsletter updating readers on progress. The Newsletter covers their first Steering Group meeting since the pandemic, progress on a revised impact assessment and a new factsheet setting out the Liberty Protection Safeguards process. The Minister for Care, Helen Whately, has made a written statement to Parliament confirming that the new regime of Liberty Protection Safeguards, replacing DoLS, will now not come into force this October and implementation has been put back to April 2022.
