Short judgment concerning attendance of an observer where NN, the protected party, objected. This was a public hearing with reporting restrictions held remotely to allow NN's participation. An observer made a request to attend but NN objected as it would cause her distress: the judge described her as a very private lady.
In a call to discuss the issue the observer agreed to leave to prevent further distress and so the hearing was held in private as it was in NN's best interests. Read the judgment on Bailii Comments are closed.
